Mermaids?

I have completed all the diving altars and found the door which is supposed to trigger the mermaid cutscene but they haven't appeared. Am I doing something wrong? I keep going up to the door on different days but they are not appearing. I can't find a video of people triggering it to check

Maybe go speak to Ling? I’m playing the beta atm and haven’t gotten there and I forgot exactly how the event triggered in the main one 😅❤️
