Hi, I am currently at fishing level 8 and catching mostly plane fish, maybe every 10th fish might be a bronse star fish... at I might have catched about 10 silver star fishes. However, I don't know what I should so to regularly catch higher quality fish? Any tip for me?

Get an improved fishing pole and upgrade your town rank. I'm at C right now and I rarely get regular quality fish, most are bronze+

Thanks, but I am close to Rank B, I already have an improved fishing rod, and I always use cast length 3... so it must be something else... but what?

thonk maybe a bug or rng is just screwing you over. Apparently it has been improved in beta so the catch rates should improve in the next proper update

I'd say it's the rng. I'm at C with improved fishing rod too, currently fishing for giant mudskippers and usually have like 8-10 normal ones for 1-2 Bronze or better quality ones (mudskippers, shrimp etc) :/
