Honey from Titan Aurum flowers and Rafflesia flowers can get 3000 and 5000 corals for a single one. Those flowers are rare foragables gotten in the Fall and Winter. Higher quality one's are worth even more than that. I advice making sure to have a few Beehives just for Fall and Winter rare flowers.

forget about those flowers - they're random / not reliable / lucky find. cooking is the most profitable thing in this game (yep, do not bother with kegs and jars - they're crap). here's the list of best recipes for profit

Honey made with Orchids and Fairy Roses sell for more than some of those foods, and you can farm those flowers. I still reccomend having BeeHives and making Honey. When you BeeHives are maxed out on the amount of Honey they are making, since it takes days to make honey, I reccomend doing the cooking Fury Fairy advised.
Cooking is a little buggy in the game, but bug fixes for cooking issues will come in the future I'm sure. Cooking is the best way to make good use of your produce and maximize profit on lo quality produce. I do not reccomend using high quality Pumpkins for cooking, since they are worth way more than what the cooked vegetable recipes sell for. High quality Pumpkins are very valuable, and the best way to get them is to have the Silver Quality or Higher Vegetable upgrade from the Lab, and use Fertilizer. High quality Pumpkins are the most valuable produce in the game. Mind you, Wine, Beer, and Sake is also a great money maker if you use you Grapes Wheat and Rice for them, since they sell for a fortune at the higher qualities.

honey is fine, i have 112 beehives on farm for semi-passive income. HOWEVER, always measure "per day" profit: to get honey money, you have to grow flower AND wait 3 days for honey to process. for fairy rose e.g. it will be 8+3=11 days, and honey price (which is about 500 gold) should be divided by 11 >>> less than 50 gold/day. BUT, benefit is you can do whatever during those 11 days - and still get some money. Honey aside - best crops are the ones that produce more often: spring = sugarcane (23 harvests per season), summer - hot peppers that regrow every 3 days AND last for fall, and for fall it's cranberries that regrow every 2 days. And then you put all this into cooking, namely smoothies, OR fruit tarts - these, although LESS profitable than smoothies, may be cooked in batches that saves so much IRL time. Best part - you do NOT need to bother with fertilizers since cooking disregards crop quality. Therefore, crops like pumpkins are ABSOLUTE CRAP, since you can grow only TWO per season, while cranberries will give you 12 harvests, and each damn berry is 165 coins in a form of smoothie. The only use for kegs is greenhouse grapes, that gives when established about 1000K per bottle every 6 days and reqs very little maintenance (you can refill twice per MONTH), but wine will be nerfed next update

For me, I'm less interested in 'profit per day' (in game) and more interested in profit per effort i.e. # of clicks or real-time spent (e.g. waiting for the cooking timer for things without recipes). Is there an existing list for something like that?

if you have the greenhouse unlocked, it is best to grow grapes to sell Wine, you get 780 - 900 -1,020 -1,175 or 1,560 depending on its quality.
You can also plant barley and make beer, you get 450 - 520 - 590 - 680 or 905 depending on its quality.
Also if you are in summer, go fishing from 6 am to 4 pm next to Zara's boat, you will get sharks, you will get 845 - 972 - 1099- 1268 or 1690 depending on its quality.
I hope it helps! :D

For anyone curious about profit margins, even with buying wheat and sugar (95g total), you're still making >270g profit if you use cranberries
