I gave Eva a silver star sunflower honey and she responded with "this is nice.. but..." which I think is one of her neutral responses but honey is labeled as an artisan product. does eva not like things like honey, mayonnaise, etc because they're animal artisans?

honey is "made" from flowers (bees are insects so it is not considered an animal product) ... animal products include those which you get from cows and chickens and other livestock

#

so milk and eggs

#

for now at least

well flowers dont make honey, bees make honey, for me it is deffo an animal product. weird.

so in game its kinda "made" from flowers even when we know bees make them

#

since we don't physically use bees to make the honey ... the bees need the flowers to make the honey for us ... so flowers lol

#

and how can it be considered an animal product if insects make it ...

Honey appears in the ranching section of profits in game, so it might be listed as an animal product in the coding.

yeah i would consider it an "animal" product if we're considering bees animals, it's not made out of flowers it's made by the bees else my garden would have honey dripping from it.

the analogy of comparing cows and bees is just bizarre since cows arent nearly similar to bees (genetically and physically) (although I might be wrong since I am no expert in this regard)

honey is vegan tho. bees need us to remove their honey so they can continue to do their thing. removing honey doesn't hurt the bees (unless it's not done properly obvs and I've heard that thee are always a few bees that may get stuck in the honey) and it doesn't negatively impact them

#

deffos not a bee expert here but I've got a few friends who have hives n make honey and I've seen quite a few things around on the internet saying that harvesting honey from bees is a good thing 😅 🐝

#

also milk and eggs are part of their respective animal's reproduction. honey is not

But do any of them explicitly avoid animal produce?

According to California regulations bees are... fish 🤷‍♀️
But anyway - I stopped trying to logic games with RL facts and rules. Games are games. They don't have to be super realistic.
As long as it's not contradicting itself and follow some set of in-game logical rules it's fine.
Suspense of disbelief 😜
