Diving Help, (spoilers)

I am struggling with diving. i have spoken to the merpeople and then followed the roots but I think I've missed something as its not completed the quest can anyone point me in the right direction literally please

Same thing happened to me, Found out that it is because the Quest is not yet finished that is why you cannot continue, most likely it will be finished with the Next Major Update
