Save file disappeared

Hey all! I started playing coral island yesterday, got onto day five. Saved every ingame night. Now I updated the game when I wanted to pick it up again today and now I have no save file. Is there some way I can get it back? Did I save incorrectly? I'm feeling quite bummed that my progress (albeit small) is gone. 😦

Move your Save folder from C:\Users<USERNAME_HERE>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral
to C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Coral Island\ProjectCoral

the files aren't gone, they are just in the wrong spot since the update

I would just like to know, where my original save is that I have to copy? i download my games from steam onto an external harddrive (to save storage space) and the saves go onto that. But I can't find any other folder for the saves

before you load your old save make a new one to populate the extra game files

see my comment above. The game doesnt have a saved folder by default so you need to create a new game to populate one

I follow the save file steps but now it says "reflection captures need to be rebuilt (1 unbuilt)" and my character is frozen

idk about the frozen character, but the first part is fine. It's a dev message - its part of the reason why people think the update wasnt supposed to come out, we shouldnt see that

okay I got to the part where you have to find Steam in your computer and the only thing I found was a thing that just pulled up steam, not an area to paste the save file into. Help please?

sure. So if you dont know where steamapps is, easiest way to find it is to open steam, right click on Coral Island > properties > Local Files > Browse

and that should open up the install location

dont right click with your sword out. Right clicking w sword is what causes Liz's character to freeze

I removed my saved game file from local data and started a new game now on my screen in upper left it says Reflection Captures Need to Be Rebuilt (1 unbuilt) I can't remove this from screen. What does it mean? Please help.

i had to follow the above steps to get my data back and it worked thank you! But now my character is stuck in a comstant state of facing to the right and i cant turn her around. i also cant press esc and bring up the menu. any ideas on if theyre linked?

Apparently you cannot use the arrow keys. You have to use ASDW

right clicking with other tools is fine, if that helps, just be careful around your sword

yeah okay it's what I figured. Rename one of the saves from DailySave_0.sav to DailySave_1.sav

and both should appear

so i never tried it before this patch, but did right-click with a sword block before? if yes, it's an issue with blocking most liekly. If not, they probably tried to implement blocking

yeah if you have 3 saves use ..._0, ..._1, ..._2. If one of those 3 is SavesList.sav then leave it

can you go back to the pre-update save in AppData and use that one? Even if you have a sword out in that save just switch off and you'll be fine

iv actually managed to unfreeze by somehow navigating to my scythe, holding down both mouse buttons and spinning in a cirlce, pressing escape and waiting for a while. i think it may just unfreeze itself after a certain period of time

anyway thanks for the help! im gonna take this biz off of this save data thread 😄

Sorry bother you again, I've tried transfering that "DailySave_0.sav" into the Savedfiles folder (where I successfully managed to put my old save file thanks to you!) But even after renaming the 0 into 1 it doesn't show in the game.. I'm leaving the "steam_autoclaud.vdf" and "SaveList.sav" that's correct right?

it may also needs to show on SaveList.sav but I havent played around with editing it
