So my save is just... gone?

i just opened the game after playing this morning (about three hours later) and my entire save is just gone? Is there a fix for this or am i just going to have to start over again...

Steam seems to have pushed the update without the developers choosing to do so. I don't condone moving files until this issue is fixed

if there was an update available its because the developers allowed the update, but i do agree not to touch anything, its early access so they will fix it soon hopefully

if you don't see a save game file in your ProjectCoral folder you need to either make it yourself, or start a new game and let the game create it

Again, I think this update is unfinished and was not intended to be released right now and I don't condone touching save files until it is rolled back. You will not have to move your save files around when updates are properly implemented.

I think as long as you keep an untouched save file from before the patch stored in a safe place I think the only damage that could be done would be losing the progress you make from now to the rollback

Yes, if you are determined to play then I'd recommend making a backup save file

This works! For everyone who said they can't find it, make sure to click on view and then click on show hidden items while in file explorer. Forgot these files are hidden backup saves

Did you make a new game before you moved them? I recommend starting a new game so all necessary files for the game to run are populated

what I did was just skip through all the intro scenes, walked outside, went back inside, slept and closed the game

I got my save back, but now I have "Reflection Captures need to be rebuilt". I have no idea what this means

I don't know for sure in this case, but that's probably an error message for the developers that you are not intended to see (telling them that someone needs to run a process for the environments, so the game knows what shiny objects should reflect)
