regular quality crops for crafting

So I’m trying to make explosive 2 and the game won’t let me use any hot peppers that aren’t regular quality. Since I’m at a C rank and I upgraded my seed quality I’m barely getting any regular quality hot peppers even tho I planted over 50 seeds.

Is this supposed to happen? Shouldn’t the game let us use any quality pepper for crafting? Alternatively, am I supposed to downgrade seeds for crafting? Is that even possible?

you are supposed to be able to use any quality. there's a glitch right now with the explosive recipe only allowing normal quality peppers
