Any tips on catching this thing? It keeps seeing me from a mile away and i have the 2 Lightfoot Masteries and the improved bug net. It's one of the last summer bugs I need.

No unfortunately. It seems you just get lucky with these harder to catch bugs. I usually cautiously get as close as I can before their meter starts, then I dash at them and swipe them with the net as quick as possible. Usually takes several attempts over several days.

dang. Thank you. They will remain uncaught for now then

One of the things I do is, if I accidentally startle it first, I back off a little until its awareness drops back down

Then I dash on top of it if possible and swipe, because it seems that if they notice you, their awareness rises ridiculously fast, but if you dash on top of them it doesn't? (to my observation at least, don't quote me on this)

I’ve been unable to catch it as well. No matter if it’s highlighted green if it is aware I don’t catch it and I try eating the flying insect scent thing, waiting to get it from the front and back, I’ve set out soooo many traps, and yet I still can’t get it 😭

I have never attempted it with an improved bug net, but I would recommend you get the master bug net if you can afford it. It makes a huge difference. If you have Lightfoot, balanced body, and the net, I have found that all you really have to do is hold and let it come to you. As soon as it overlaps with your net, you should be able to scoop it up before it freaks out

Put flying bug traps in mid forest, if you u locked it.

hey not sure if it will work with you but what I did is ride a horse (yes you'll need a horse for this) and approach from the front of the butterfly. get down and aim directly to the butterfly.

#

for some reason the awareness goes down slowly while riding a horse (prob due to speed difference than walking/dashing)

#

it will also help if you have master bug net
