You can get up the stairs by going around to the left and maneuvering through the tree and rocks. Takes a little bit of moving around, but you can get up there, then you have to get down the same way.

I tried maneuvering around the log and up the tree and rocks, but I almost got stuck in the tree and didn’t want to risk having to skip the rest of the day with the “I’m stuck!” function. So make sure you’re prepared for that possibility.
