I've donated close to 100 items to the museum, completed both mines and almost finished the first diving main quest (19/20 solar orbs). Has anyone got any tips to getting to rank C?

you absoulutely need to find like 22 more coral sites! (41 total)

More diving areas open up after completing the first 20!

Dig on the beach for books to donate to the library also

I'd recommend finishing all 41 solar orbs first + donating a little bit more, mine unlocked at 113 donations, others needed up to 120

Yeah pretty much, lol. It seemed like I was getting 1-2 for clearing about half of the larger beach area when I first started doing it.
When it got to the point that it felt like I was only getting 1 or 2 new donation items a season I started digging. You can also buy fossils from the night/black market boat once in a while. I think I got 3 in one season and I forgot to go most nights she was there.
