There is a video if you Google it which explains how to use an Xbox controller. It's not perfect but it really helps me as I am hopeless at wsad.

You can also try using Steam's controller mapping to get it to work. Its not perfect but seemed pretty usable.

I used the Steam controller before and now a Playstation 5 controller. It's not ideal, but you can get the job done.

Biggest things are that bug catching can be a little tricky and with the Playstation controller I need to still use the keyboard if I want to get to things like the map and quest menu and whatnot. I've been making work cause I am bad at using the wsad layout.

I use joytokey atm till they have controller support ready its a hassle to organize it but then it works fine
