You can also get 10 gold ore from the giant boulder up near anne/zoe's house but you have to hit it in a certain way. you also need a steel pickaxe i believe.
If you have high enough heart levels with Ralph or Pablo, they also sometimes will send you a gold bar but that's random

You can also make/get an explosive and just bomb it!
