Am in second winter. Have donated about 100 things to museum, literally never ever turned up a book on beach so can't donate to library, have activated all solar nodes in ocean and seen Agung and his sister, and cleared both mines to 40, but can't get a C rating. Completed Sam's bronze produce quest and upgraded everything but fruit trees. Never seen garlic, watermelon or fairy rose seeds or forageables in any season, neither Sam nor Ben has new winter seeds for me, so can't finish winter offering (tried different-quality hack, nothing happened.) Several eligible love interests are at 5 hearts, several non-romanceable ones between 1 and 3 hearts. Game will not let me cook.

Is there anything left to do except try to keep making friends? Will that unlock this ginseng forest I read about or fossils or any other new content? Does decorating your farm help advance things?

how many bundels did you complete at the first altar?

in general there is not any content in 2 year that you wouldnt be able to unlock within the first if you play efficiently

I have all the bundles at the first altar complete except for the winter one, which required (if I understood correctly) items which must be obtained in other seasons, after you have reached rank C.

When you say 'all solar nodes' do you mean the 20 before seeing the merfolk, or are you including the 21 more after?

The ones after count even though the quest doesn't progress

The 20 before and then however many more there are after; I've gone down the coral stairs and cleared every area I could (everything on the map someone made of screenshots of the ocean floor), past the three turtles and the seal and the beluga whale and the sunfish, up to the Spoilery Gates.

Gotcha, then if you're really close it's probably a donation thing, the donation numbers are sadly just estimates. =\ Good luck. You can try getting some more donation stuff from the black market, or hoeing up the beach? That's really all I can think of

I had to buy a couple of artifacts from the vendor that comes to the lighthouse to donate to the museum and that pushed me to level C.

I got it when I had 120 items donated (5 bundles/all shrines as well) idk just keep going also wow you're so far ahead I'm only at the start of the first fall

I did eventually get it, thank you! I donated about ?8 more things and it came through (is there potentially a minimum friendship component? I started talking regularly to more of the villagers and I don't actually know if it made any difference but it happened the same night I got a couple of new hearts?)

Yea I am definitely going to focus more on social, just taking a look I have a lot of people at one or to hearts with only a select few at 5
