Friendship Decrease

Does the game will punish player by decreasing their friendship with the townsfolk if they didnt talk or give any items for them?

At the moment here isn't any decay, which I hope stays the case, too many people and things to do to keep up all the time DX haven't noticed any "haven't seen you in a while' dialogue either

I think currently you will only decrease the heart Level by gifting them things they dont like
