im 30 hours in, talk to every villager every time i see them, give gifts constantly, and no one has ever gained even one heart, so i figured friendship wasnt implemented yet. until i just searched this forum... so is it bugged for me? or is it just impossible to make friends?

ohhh okay. so is it only gifts that give hearts? talking to them doesnt add any points?

taliking do them does help but it only to amounts to a very small progress

It takes a while to gain them and you have to actually give them things they like. I think it’s purposefully really slow progress. Wouldn’t want you to be able to max them in no time at all

Talking to them gives a very small amount of friendship progress, but iirc only the first dialogue. Every subsequent dialogue on the same day doesn't give any extra progress, but does give more insight into the character.
