Observations of the game

Been playing for about a week maybe? Bought it pretty quickly after it hit early access. I've been running around and stuff, and have found the lack of tutorial a little frustrating, as I'm not a skilled gamer, and get frustrated running around in the dark trying to figure things out for myself. Took me forever to figure out that the ocean quest was not finisheable lol. Few things I've noticed that I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or it's an actual bug, or things aren't added to the game yet.

1. It said I unlocked fishing bait, but I can't find it anywhere; it's not in the craft menu like where I make sprinklers, and the smelter, and stuff. And it's not in the cooking menu.
2. Bringing up the cooking menu, I've purchased every cooking item and none of the the recipes I've unlocked (so far, it's just the sashimi, though) are showing up. Have I missed something? Or is this a bug?
3. Back around to fishing. I've been fishing all over the island, and I can't seem to get anything but shrimp, crayfish, goldfish, garbage and flyers from any fresh water source I find. Do I need the bait to get the other fresh water fish? Or are they not in-game yet?
4. I'm trying to get the temple offerings completed, and am working through tier two. I cannot find the Rove beetle anywhere! The only things I can think of, are I'm in the wrong season (the only one I think I haven't tried is fall) or it's the wrong weather (I'm out all night searching in all weather all over the island) or it's in an area that I haven't unlocked yet. The Rove beetle is the last one I need for the night insects.
5. While diving, I can't find the blue jelly fish. I know there are arrowcrabs, because I caught one (foolishly gave it to the museum because I didn't know better!) and I haven't found another one since.

These types of games typically don’t have tutorials. It’s the exploration and figuring things out that people in this genre typically like. Having everything laid out for you with a bow on top is boring and ruins the magic.

1. welcome to prerelease. It doesn’t exist yet.

2. Once again it doesn’t exist yet.

3. There’s only a handful of fish in the game so far. The game isn’t finished. But the special ones are in really specific places during certain times/weather.

4. I don’t know this beetle but I’m gonna go ahead and guess it’s not in the game or is super rare during a certain season.

5. It’s probably like the beetle.

Use the discord search function and search for things when you can’t find it. Or google but discord is going to be best for this since the game isn’t out yet and the wikis haven’t been compiled all the way yet.

There are Jellyfish in the diving section. I can't recall if it is after the initial 20 sunstones or before though!

I've definitely gotten more fish than just those three from fishing by the lighthouse, houseboat, and temple, but I don't think all fish are in the game yet. I typically get shrimp and crayfish from the farm so I just started fishing wherever I could cast a line into water - sometimes it worked and sometimes it seemed like maybe no fish there yet. Getting an upgraded rod can help with the trickier fish to catch, too, until bait is implemented.
