#Windows Defender Firewall blocking the game's features?

This is question mainly for the Developers, but if anyone else has an explanation for this, it would be appreciated.

So I bought the game recently, installed and had just started it up, only to get this window popping up saying my firewall has blocked some of its features and is wanting access to a public network. I showed it to my dad and he found it odd to be asking that sincehe says it should only be requesting that if the game is trying to communicate with a server outside of Steam. But since it's a single player game, it shouldn't have a reason to. I tried googling the issue and didn't find any results of other people having the same problem. I would like to know why it needs access to a Public Network in order for the game to properly run? I can't get past that window without needing admin permission or the game just closes out.

I also had a windows defender warning with access request - when you launch the game it asks to be able to collect data because it's in early access, so the devs can improve the game more. That's why it's giving you the windows defender notice as far as I'm aware, because the game will try to communicate some of your information out.

He's not entirely convinced that's the reason for the block but it's a possibility.

It does tell you what they are using it for when it pops up asking for access, but unfortunately the access request comes up after the windows defender notification. I don't remember the exact list of what it requests since its been a bit from when I went through the approval for it, but it was basically just to send them data on your system, timezone, etc which is pretty normal for early access games. 🤷‍♀️ Its correct you can't monitor what they save, but it does include a promise to not sell data if I remember correctly. Which is usually the best you can get from something of this sort.
