I can’t catch any bugs. Tried 3 different flying types and 6 different ground types yesterday in game. I haven’t been able to catch any since I changed my graphics settings, did this in the 3rd day in game (spring 3, Currently on summer 25). This is on the first file I made. Even went back to default settings (F button) and still couldn’t catch anything. It doesn’t even highlight the bugs regardless on what bug I try and i went to different areas on the map to catch different ones and nothing works. . I think the file itself is corrupted or something. But I can do everything else normally, farming, fishing, mining, etc. the game just won’t let me catch bugs. Edit: i got the upgraded net. I can catch diving critters but still not land bugs… can’t catch flying or ground type with upgraded net.

I have never been able to catch bugs either. I keep wondering if I buy the better net it will highlight them to let me catch them.

I found some bugs are impossible to catch. I sneak with my net and can't even get close before the run away.

This is definitely a bug and not how the net works. Right away after getting the basic net, I was able to catch the majority of things relatively easily, and the highlighting worked on the basic net. I have a lot of problems judging the height and location of flying bugs, and I think their cone of vision is possibly facing the wrong way, but catching is possible.

I did have something like this happen once, but a reboot resolved it.

I'm going to try starting a new file to see if it's any different.

I've rebooted and tried a different save file. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall. I am trying that next. If it doesn't work does anyone know if you can still get to C without bug catching?

proof that all bugs are real and CAN be caught. Completed full collection winter year ONE. Yep, some of them are nasty F**ers, but practice is answer to anything skill. Nothing on earth prevents you from reloading the day until you confident enough. For me it took about 4-5 hrs of training. Cant deny sometimes net catch area is wonky, flying creatures are harder than ground - but you get used to it and do no problem. Good luck folks, keep that grind!.. P.S. those who say catching is too hard - no it's not, at least something is this game should be at least mildly challenging, otherwise no fun playing at all

something to help you out with your rank tracking, more details here https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Town_rank?so=search

I have had this happen with specific insects. I successfully sneak up, hold my net down and the green cone highlight appears, but the bug never becomes highlighted and when I swing my net when it looks like it should be in the cone I don't catch it. I had this happen multiple times with the black widow and it straight at/under me, but it never became highlighted.
