Can I let my animals out during the winter to graze on grass or is it too cold? I’m blowing through hay so fast keeping them inside all day, and it suddenly hit me that maybe this doesn’t work like SDV and they can go out in winter? (Fingers 🤞🏻)

I am on day 2 of winter and so far let them graze. I did cut down my grass a bit thinking it would die. but it did not. just seems you can't plant more. Whether this is perm or not. who knows.
I'd also like to know if anyones noticed a difference in quality of animal products hay fed vs grass fed tho

i've had my cows for two seasons, haven't "hand" fed them once, have the upgraded feed thing, and almost always get silver or gold (starting to get osmium) milk from them, all with them eating the grass outside every day
