EDIT, 15th October:

  1. 👀 Some keen-eyed player found the solution - there were 'hidden' coral stairs that allowed access to this area.

2.❗Still, most of coral-like and other structures with stairs aren't climbable underwater, and it's not obvious that the 'stairs' are climbable. Making the passage more obviously accessible would help out idiots like myself.

  1. 📝 Quest itself seems to be on pause, since I've now cleared up every inch. There are no signs of roots and the areas just loop or lead to dead ends.

⛔ If the quest is a work in progress, please give the players and indication, since a lot of us are just wasting in-game and real life time wandering aimlessly.

I have cleaned up every single area available and healed what I could, fed the 3 turtles and even met a baluga and a seal. Still, the 3 areas surrounding this mine-like entrance are sealed off and there's no way of reaching them.

Anyone found a solution to clear the way?

I'm not sure, but it could be that it is locked/not implemented yet? Or you may have missed a orb thing, but I doubht that if you wandered around for days

@versed citrus I kind of assumed so. Still, having any progress information indicator would be great (I've been stuck on "Follow the root" ever since I cleaned up the initial 20). I've tried talking to Ling (the lady from the lab), tried boosting relationship with her and nothing is happening so far. When it comes to orbs, every single one is in place. Would love to hear more confirmations that it's not just me having this issue.

I don't think you are the only one, I think it's more that the rest isn't implemented yet into the early access version, just like some festivals aren't implemented yet, or the fruit trees and all other things not yet implemented.

I do get the wanting confirmation on this, especially if you are "wasting" time on trying to find out what works and/or if it is bugged

Yeah, if it's a work in progress, it should be made transparent so we're not stuck finding solutions that arent there. At least the Spring Festival stew had an indicator that it's still worked on by the devs. That's why, after that, I assumed any place or quest without such indicator is ready to be explored.

i need gold kelp for sprinklers as well, which is why ive wasted so much time trying to unlock down there

I am at the exact same spot at you, @gaunt socket The area to the left of the ampitheater looking area at the bottom-left of the ocean is still blocked. Nothing unlocked it. And the underwater starlet town gate won't open. I assume it's the end of diving content.

@long shell With how wide-spread the issue seems to be, I'm assuming that the underwater content is simply locked for now and the peeps claiming they've progressed further are stuck just like we all are. ;c

I managed to clear all the blocked passage you’ve shown, but after that. There is no where to go anymore. As there seems to be no more blocked passage nor the solar (idk whats its called)

Same here. Wondered aimlessly for 2 days trying to finish retreated road and explore the ocean quest… got to a road with a gate that has two statue on the side with a ball in their mouth but gate doesn’t open
