People have said you can get silver kelp from dig spots and I have no idea what they are talking about.

Literally just tilling the beach with your hoe. Was super unintuitive, I would have never tried it myself. Can confirm you can get silver kelp from it but it's very slow. I'd suggest mining and selling resources and just buying the silver kelp. But to each their own! Maybe it's better with an upgraded hoe.

you need to dig the four leaf clover on the beach, not just the beach it self

The sandstone rocks you can mine sometimes drop silver kelp as well, for some random reason

While you do get certain things from the clover spots, I haven't gotten kelp from them. I have gotten it from regular beach spots though. They show up like tilled land after you hoe them.
The coffers have a chance at 5 silver kelp as well. Open at the blacksmith.
