I added this suggestion in feedback but I just saw there is a suggestions tag here so I’ll add it here as well.
I’d love it if when characters mention their own or other townies’s likes and/ or dislikes (like Suki mentioning she hates violets) that it’ll be added to their character profile just like it would when you give them a gift. This feels like a natural way to learn likes and dislikes, adds an additional reason to talk to townies on the daily so you can learn more about them and it takes away the need for players to memorize it or check a wiki. As I personally, along with probably many others, have a terrible memory. And checking wiki’s takes the fun out of it but its also not fun when you accidentally give a townie a gift they hate on their birthday 😬
