I saw someone post a photo of a giant potato, how do you get giant produce?

I got a gigant potato too and it just happened? I had a regular scarecrow worth plot of land and when it was ready to harvest there was a big potato. Idk if it works here the same but i know that in SV you had to have crops grow 3x3 unobscured for it to happen (idk if that explanation makes sense,,)

Kinda! I remember in SV you had to wait a certain amount of time and leave the ready to harvest crops for days until it becomes giant by chance, so i guess with yours it just happened when it was full grown?

Yeah, in SV it can also happen right away but idk if the "leave crop unharvested to get another chance at a giant crop" is in here too

I believe its 3x3 of potatoes and good ole RNG! Mine grew the same day as harvest, I didn’t leave them unharvested. Giant crops doesn’t seem to be impacted by the seasons either (currently in Summer).

There is a book in the library that suggests that you do indeed leave the crop unharvested

Was the potato actually a giant potato on harvest or did it just give more potatos? Curious if they have a different outcome/value
