Genuinely don't know how to fish....I cast my rod and wait and wait but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

it generally seems to take quite a while for a fish to bite. the reeling in will start automatically and show a bar on the bottom of the screen. you then have the minigame of reeling in without snapping the line. Maybe try some other fishing spots. i had one or two spots where nothing would happen too.

I was dealing with this too, I seem to be physically incapable of reeling anything other than trash in? like, I hook the fish but the line always breaks, every time. How do I stop that from happening?

you have to wait for it top stop wiggling the reel in until the squiggly line above and below the bar is almost at the ends then top reeling then wait for the fish to stop wiggling again :) hope that helps
