Temple Offerings

Are the stars on things I pick up indicating that I need it for a temple offering?
I realized temple offerings are a thing a little too late I think… (I’m a little worried I now don’t have enough time for all my spring stuff to grow in time bc i was just selling it all)
I was trying to figure out what the stars on random things I found meant for a long time and why they wouldn’t stack with the rest of my items. Or are they an indication of quality? I’m having a hard time figuring out what they mean and there doesn’t seem to be an explanation within the game anywhere unless i’m missing it.

The stars on the item are the quality of the item. The shopkeeper should explain it soon. Temple items seem to be normal quality for the first one so far.

If you miss out on a sesajen don't panic too much, the seasons repeat every year, after all! 🙂
