Is there any way to drop items from your inventory onto the ground or in house?

My inventory is full but Im in the first few days, so I don't want to sell anything just yet.

iirc, chest is available for crafting from Day 1. You can press I then click the wrench icon and look for the chest blueprint. You can temporarily store your items in the shipping bin while you craft the chests as long you don't end your day.
