is move anchor in sea bugged? or do you need a specific prereq or spot?

You get it to work by moving to a area away from the anchor and then hitting the x key and it should drop it next to you.
At least that’s the only way I’ve gotten it to work

Yeah I'm 10 in, near the sea turtle, no where else to go until I make a cucumber, and... the anchor won't go near that area so I'm having to swim all the way there

Bugged for me as well I've closed and restated the game multiple times. Totally shut the pc down over night, Nada. No Joy, no moving the anchor. It stays right at the Starting drop point. Pressing "X" is ineffective, even after moving far away from it.

Im having the same issue I can not move the anchor, and as said above no way to change the key bind either. Would be nice for a fix as the diving area's are massive & will take alot of time going back to the start to leave the dive

I believe there is a way to reset the anchor, right? Or is that not an option for us since it was never able to move in the first place?

Also I just realized I was still playing alpha and JUST switched to early access. I'll see if that changes anything.

Well, now I can move the Anchor. Dunno if that applies for anyone else.
Also if it gets stuck after you've moved it. You'll have to reset it.

But the option doesn't appear unless you've moved the anchor initially.

do you play on gamepass or steam ? if gamepass how where you able to update the game ?

I recommend checking your email, I searched for Stairway Games.

Supposing you're still playing on the alpha version, there will be an alpha key and an early access key. You want the early access one. There will be instructions in the email, or at the very least links to the instructions.

For stream at least, it was a whole different installation than alpha.

problem is that microsoft is up to now, not able to update the game to EA ver. the only ver. i can play via gamepass is the alpha version -.-

I wounder if this is why my water mine won't open. I'm in the alpha version, playing on xbox pc game pass. Ill be buying on steam when my paycheck hits. I cant seem to get the early access on xbox pc game pass. Hopefully this will fix the anchor issue as well.

Want me to let you know if buying the steam version fixes the issues? I'm hoping I don't have to start all over from day one but I'm not sure if they have a cloud save like stardew has where I can access my saves from xbox pc game pass and steam.

The alpha might not be compatible with early access saves apparently... (got the info from another thread, but unsure of how accurate that is, so hopefully it's not true...)

Looks like Xbox Game Pass updated to the early access version but it deleted everyone's previous save files!

I'm on gamepass and can move the anchor now (although had to restart since save was lost)

If it deletes my save I may keep the steam one and play on there since it seems like steam is getting updates and things first.

It makes me sad that its deleting saves I was in fall already lol

Yeah, I think Steam will be slightly ahead on patches. Only matters if they patch frequently imo.
I was just in fall as well, but since I now am more familiar with game mechs, it's pretty easy to catch back up (thankfully you can skip cutscenes)

I think im going to keep steam I prefer steam its where my stardew is and idk i like it better i only started using xbox pc for minecraft but im over minecraft now

It's because it was the alpha version and not the early access all alpha players can attest that they lost their saves on the 11th when early access released
