Are we able to finish this quest chain? I am stuck at "Follow the retreated root" and it gave me a second quest "the root of the problem" and I've cleared everything I can find (behind the whale guy & seal guy) but I'm not sure what to do next? There are some vines in the southern area near the big shell statue, that I'm not sure how to clear, doesn't seem to be a way around them (even while back tracking) And the doors to what I assume are the Mer-Kingdom aren't opening if I go up to them.
I just don't want to keep swimming around if the full chain isn't implemented yet!

Kinda having this same issue. I finished the 20th orb, it changed to "Follow the retreated root". I went to the area, the cut scene triggered but the quest stayed the same. I don't have a new quest but do have access to another area with three more orbs but am a bit afraid to clear anything as I don't want to bug things further. I tried waiting until the next day, going to the lab, going back down to the area and logging in and out. Nothing is advancing the quest.
