I personally think that a lot of people don't want to learn how to AIM BETTER, but to learn HOW TO GET KILLS FASTER. So, if that's you, here is my ONE tip:
Pre-aim: You knew this was coming , but stay with me! It makes a world of difference as it REDUCES YOUR TIME TO KILL SIGNIFICANTLY*.* Getting kills depends on a few factors including your reaction time, network latency, server-client latency, touch sampling rate of your device, TTK of your weapon, and last but not the least, your level of knowledge about the game, especially what positions you, your teammates, and your opponents are taking up at any given time per every game of Call of Duty. (I may be missing some other things, but these are the major components of a competitive TTK).
Pre-aiming along with good game knowledge will reduce your TTK dramatically by having you already aimed in at where the enemy is going to be, as opposed to having to aim and shoot after the fact. Going the second route of aiming and shooting after the enemy appears, gives the chance to all those factors we discussed earlier to seriously mess you up. This doesn't just apply to AR/LMG users, but also SMG, Sniper, and even shotgun users.
You CAN be aggressive with a good pre-aim in tandem with good positioning!
