Sorry this is such a long post, I’ll try to make it as short as possible. Also, I’m on mobile so sorry for formatting issues.
Basically, its not a big secret that ranking in the past few seasons has kind of lost its meaning, and I’ve come up with a system that I think would fix some of the most common complaints/issues I’ve been seeing by giving players points based on individual performance more than team wins/losses. It would also stop to some extent better players carrying their friends to ranks they shouldn’t be in.
TDM: Points in this mode should be mostly based on K/D. The players with the best K/D get more points, and the worst get lower points. A win only ensures you don’t lose any points, and winning gives a small bonus to all of that team’s players. Small bonuses are also rewarded for more kills, to avoid people getting a few kills then just camping. This way, you won’t lose points going 20/5 because everyone else on your team is going negative. On a separate note, TDM matches are really short and should be increased to 60 kills/match at least.
HARDPOINT/DOMINATION: This one is pretty simple, just reward more points for keeping the hardpoint and taking objectives to balance out OBJ and slayers, then give more points to the best players. Winning teams still wouldn’t lose points and would get a small win bonus, but people doing nothing would gain only a small amount while people doing well in both killing and OBJ would gain more, and losing players that did well wouldn’t get dragged down as much by bad teammates.
SND: This would work almost identically to TDM, taking into account K/D and bomb plants. Winner gets small bonus, better players get more points while not as well performing players get less of them. Getting kills when you’re down players would also give slightly more points than normal, so if your teammates keep immediately dying clutching a round is more highly rewarded.
Let me know if you guys have any suggestions, and if this could work. The objective I had in mind is to have more ac...
