iOS Overheating issues after anniversary update

Hey All!

Anybody experiencing overheating issues since updating to CODM v1.6.17? I wasn't experiencing this before the anniversary update, running on the same iOS version.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro 64gb running on iOS 14.0.1. I still have around 22gb available memory, so I don't think it's a storage issue.

Warning: this is a bit lengthy. Skip to the end for a "TL;DR" summary. I'll try to add more information as I go.

So I have played 4 BR games now, first place in 2 games, second in 1 game, and another terrible game lol. Airborne in 3, Ninja in 1.

Weapons!

  1. FJH does NOT kill people in 1 shot - it takes two. I have to figure out aiming, but it seems to generally hit the person from SMG range, as long as you have it centered.
  2. A few new variants are laying around. Nothing too crazy.
  3. Every green weapons box seems to have a scope now, even boxes with shotguns.
  4. The random weapon generators still suck the same as before).
  5. The purifier seems to have about a 5 meter range. I haven't tried it out seriously, but I wouldn't use it seriously. There's no use case that I see.
  6. The special guns (Purifier, Annihilator, etc.) do use a different ammo. It seems that for the "higher power guns" such as the Annihilator, they use 10 rounds each shot. You pick up like 200 + whatever is in the gun. The "lower power/continuous fire" guns use fractions of 10, I believe. I dislike this because the ammo is not readily available. I could only find it in airdrops and in special equipment areas, and only in very limited quantities. Expect these special guns to not be equipped often because they have this downfall, or they will be used in very narrow circumstances.
  7. The Purifier sucks, a lot. I can't emphasize this enough. Most gameplay takes place outside of the Purifier's range, so it's pretty useless, and the burn damage doesn't last long enough. Shooting the enemy for half a second kept them burning for about 5 seconds and I don't think they were close to dying, because that's when they easily killed me. Maybe you might find a way to use it, but I can't.
  8. Sleuth has to recharge to be used again, for about 30 seconds, much like the flashlight. Kind of useful in CQB, but I'd keep a second orange mod to switch into when you're not in CQB, such as Void Mods or Sprint. It might be best used for a "spray a house an...

The Rus new sounds weird and the hitmarkers do this comical left to right and it seem they got bigger? Either way they don't look appealing more cartoon ish which hopefully won't fuck up my kills from long range with a ar or smg

In cranked, people probably are not hacking

Someone just accused me of hacking in Cranked, and somehow I don't think said person knew you speed you when you get kill, and as I had 9 continuous kills I was kinda zooming around <!-- don't think the speed increases after the initial increase when you get the first kill though -->
In anyway the reason for the post, if people are zooming in cranked they are not hacking, however if you see someone using anything else like wall hacks or aim bot report them.

I can play on high graphics setting on sd636 for first time!!

I know some flagships got fucked with recent update but for my potato it's a good thing, idk what optimizations you did.

Mine was only set to low graphics since past few updates but after this update, game blessed me with the options of high graphics and Max framerate. Ofc it's not buttery smooth but playable.

This just goes to show if devs get time they can optimize the hell out of game.

About new graphics

I saw a lot people complaining about there phones having lower graphics and frame rate after the update but mine has higher graphics and frame rate my game is over all a lot better. I don't know what codm did but I hope that they will make it so everyone is able to have improved game experience

First impressions on the new update

No pictures so no spoilers for people who still dont have the updated version

So, I can feel that de synch is more gone than before. But I felt that little sniper change,where wallbangs are now a hitmarker with FMJ on, and where bullet velocity feels slow asf, fair enough if they nerfed them completely. Also, I play low graphics on BR cause of my phone, but before, low graphics on BR is really good, now the texture feels so off and color is too bright. That's the problems i encountered of the start.

Now good things, hitmarkers are the most satisfying thing to see while shooting, i feels so good and also because de synch is more gone i can feel my shots hitting and it's just so good. The optimization and fixes of how the guns work or mainly animations is better and you can feel change.

Overall it is a great update to change how the game feels and looks (not including BR low graphic setting).

Can't wait for the main update (Battle pass, etc.)
Excited to this season and more and maybe even things that will make the game better at its best.

All love to the devs and players and other people making the game. <3

Why do we have to download all maps, characters and weapons skins after every update again and again?

Guys, I don't know if its just me but I find it very time consuming and a waste of my internet resources if I have to download all of the mentioned things in the title repeatedly after each update again and again. What is the point of an update if I have to download the whole damn game over and over again each time?!

I remember before the gunsmith update this was the case - we didn't have to redownload everything and I don't understand why that can't be the case now. Sorry if I'm ignorant about the mechanics of cache and storage management or something but these are just my two cents.

Major sensitivity issues with in-game player movement (sliding, turning etc.) after the new update

Anybody else facing sensitivity issues after the new update. After the new update, I'm unable to do a comfortable 180 degree turn with a flick of a finger with my earlier settings as I used to do before. Jumping, sliding and movement overall seems buggy, doesn't feel smooth anymore. Same thing happened with last month's update as well, had to tweak my sensitivities then also. If this is gonna happen again and again with every forthcoming update, this will become really tiresome for the players to change and adjust their sensitivity settings (this will also affect their muscle memory) on a concurrent basis. Hope developers look into it and fix this, as this is a really concerning issue.

Update size problem

Hello, the update size on the app store is bordering over 1 gb on the app store, and although I have over 2 gb of free space on my phone, it's requiring me to free more space to start the download.

Is it more worthwhile to to just delete and reinstall the game, if the update will increase the overall game size? As the game is already bordering on 3 gb. Will reinstalling the game save me space and time?

Invinsibility bug after this update

Hi guys,hope you're all having a great time enjoying this new update.I have a question for you guys.So I was playing domination on Nuketown and I saw this player (not a bot) full grey character,no red shoulders and when I try to shoot him,the bullets wouldn't register.Its as if he's hacking or using some god mode glitch.He ran faster than usual with a krm (which is possible because of gunsmith).Only bots were able to kill him but I wasn't.My thermite killed him a few times but my weapons or operator skill were useless against him.Just to let you know it's not desync or hits not registering.My hits did register on the other enemies and I was able to kill them.Or is it just a bugged perk?What are your opinions on this?
If I encounter him again,I'll send recorded proof to show what I'm talking about.

Before the season 11 update I could use ultra and the max fps setting , but now I'm limited to high and max, even tho my Redmi note 9s is capable of running ultra graphics. I never had any performance or overheating problems with ultra, I always had 60 fps. Please just enable all graphics options for all devices and leave the choice up to us

Dear codm, I play on a low end device and would like to report a few things I faced after updating

  1. The UI for me is in 720 p which used to be in 1080p before the update
  2. Even though my internet is fine, I face a lot of ping issues and get disconnected from matches almost every game
  3. Random stuttering of screen causing lag and getting killed
    Please stabilize the game for low end devices like mine

P.S. Thanks for adding quips from season 1 like "BOOM HEADSHOT"..
Now I can see blood effect after updating which is real cool as there was no feature for that in my device before
Thanks for all the new content which you put in the game
IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU BRING BACK ZOMBIES

Check network connection

I just downloaded the new update, and whenever I try to open the app, it shows the loading screen and then it says check network connection, then takes me back to the loading screen. First impressions of update

New suppressed rus sound is pleasure to ears

I am facing much less lag after the update

Fhj can still lock to enemy scorestreaks, and you can fire on enemies although it does not lock onto them. They really thought on this one I like that.

Stealth choppers look bit near compared to previous update, if that's makes sense.

I felt the revolver shoots faster than before.

Cranked mode is fun. If ranked gets more modes this should be the one.

If you have found something that wasn't mentioned in patch notes please comment, that will really help a lot.

Mystic or legendary weapons? Should we stop spending for legendaries now?

So from now on they gonna release a mystic tier which is higher than the legendary one, iam thinking about what is the reason to spend for a specific legendary weapon which can recieve a better skin in mystic soon? If all the legendary weapons got another mystic skin in next seasons so that mean we spend money for skins which will be replaced by a better ones

A question about monthly rewards after missing a few days

This is my first post so the title is probably weird so I am sorry. But I have a question! So my wifi slows down the week before the 15th every month (it gets renewed in the 15th after i pay for it) and i would have to update this update in the 15th since the wifi rn is so slow that its stuck on waiting so will i miss some rewards?? Fix the Fennec ( it wasnt even released for 1 day)

I just grabbed the epic Fennec in BR, and my god! The recoil is disgustingly high, at least twice as bad as the MSMC. You cant hit an enemy who is over 5 meters away, literally. You cant even really aim with this thing while shooting. Congrats! This is legit the worst gun in the game if it doesnt get fixed

Why are people suddenly exploding?

I haven’t played for a while and when I played just recently after the update I’ve seen some blinking thing on my teammates or even myself then it’d explode after afew seconds. I was just confused as to why this was happening because sometimes it becomes annoying especially when I’m about to kill an enemy but then that suddenly happens to me or my teammate then we both die. Note: this happened on domination 10v10 mode twice and it wasn’t the cranked game mode. Thank you to whoever would clarify on this.

There’s so much balance changes to get used to

So far alert has been nerfed, so now it’s no longer the best perk in MP, I’m gonna have to replace it with dead silence like what everyone else is running or engineer and shrapnel

Also weapon swap speed is so much slower than before unless you have amped making it a much more useful perk now

Guns also seem to changed a bit, it feels like some are doing more dmg for some reason but I’m not sure on this

I don't think warzone is coming to mobile

The reason I say this is because the game is already like warzone.. This update, they've taken out out the long mods option from the game and introduced tracers and similar hitmarker designs and marking system like cod.. With tracers now available, we're expected to lead our shots better like in warzone.. The only thing remaining is a few mechanics like the cash and the buy back system and buying killstreak with your money.. After this update it's looking more like warzone and less like cod: blackout.. except for all the guns, but I assume they'll just introduce all those like they did with the echo shotgun.. I don't think it's an option for a company to expect people to keep playing an older game after they release a new significantly better battle royale.. So for that reason and the ones I said before I don't think it's going to happen.. They're just going to make this game to be more like warzone rather than make an entirely new game and make the current one obsolete..

Just my thoughts, What do you guys think ?

A small thought on the NA-45 and S7 ranked

I've had a lot of games with the NA-45 recently, since I play on the Vietnamese version (I've maxed out the weapon). With the ability to have explosive bullets and insane rate of fire (fastest of all snipes, faster than the XPR itself), this might become pretty annoying in ranked, especially if u play Hardpoint or Domination. Imagine standing in a Hardpoint and get killed by a War Machine. Annoying, right? Well, getting killed by a NA-45 while being inside a Hardpoint will be just as annoying.

Also, since this gun is super effective at clearing several enemies at the same time, people will undoubtedly spam this in ranked. I'm sure they will. Therefore, prepare yourselves to counter those permanent Sparrows/ War Machines.

Please bring back the Max graphics settings for CODM.

Device : Realme 3 Pro , Snapdragon 710 4 Gb RAM
Playing since Beta version came but never had this issue. After this new update there is no more Max and Very High graphics setting options.
Earlier this device had option of Max graphics setting with Very High frame rate.
I thought in new update COD team will give Max frames option for Max graphics but they removed it.
Bloom mode was very good in CODM but it is gone now.
Device never had any problem in performance with highest settings.
This is a major blow to a console quality game.
I was hyped about this update.
My device is useless now.
Please bring this back.

BR graphics update.

Don't know about others but am really loving the new experience in BR. Also footsteps are more clear of enemies from before. Also while picking gun if you had red dot sight it gets auto equipped to the new gun. So I guess with few patches it will be awesome

I am literally triggered right now. My phone is Realme 6(6 GB Variant) and the processor is good too. My phone was not getting 60 FPS since 3 BP seasons so I downloaded a app to get 60 FPS and today when I opened CODM,it blocked the folder of the app and now I can't play at 60 FPS. Fix this thing or I am gonna quit the game.

Ping has become 90-120 after the latest update

Before I updated it this morning, my ping used to range from 20-30 and now it doesn't seem to come lower than 50. Desync has gotten much worse.
My friends seem to face the same problem as well, all are on the same server.

Still not optimized for the iPad Pro 10.5 inch

This device is more powerful than the iPhone XS when it comes to gpu performance i can’t even choose "very high" frame rate settings. BR mode fpp is the worst, I’m getting 20fps or something, cause that shit ain’t smooth at all.

The games been around for over 2 years including the beta and it still isn’t optimized for these devices.

My first Pre-S11 experience

Heya, CoD developers and the community i'm from the Garena server and specifically made this post just to tell my experience with pre-season 11 and want to point out or mention some problems (bugs) and a few nice improvements to the game

What I Like or Something You May Not Noticed:

  • I'm glad ya'll bringed back the "Boom Headshout" sound
  • Satisfying and detailed guns sound when you're running, reloading and also ADS-ing
  • Great Type 25, RUS, BY15 sound
  • Thank you for adding the '!' Button to remove all the markers
  • Guns scope in animation looks fluid BUT there's still a little bit of hiccup when you have like fast ADS and slow ADS build
  • Phone players have wider FOV i think?
  • Thank you for adding the marker adjustment for MP
  • Finally, I can access Camo for the Axe lol, thank you for fixing that.

Issue or Something i personally don't like

  • The Scope out animation for Snipers are really weird, its noticable when i'm using the DLQ
  • Annihilator, when you trying to get out of ADS, it feels slow
  • War Machine, i don't know if this is intentional or a bug but when you spam the War Machine into like a group of enemy the bomb doesn't even physically kill them
  • Transform Shield, having a LOT of trouble placing them down than the previous version, like i'm on a flat surface/ground when i'm continously spamming the button it always give me "Can't be placed here" message
  • Why's my phone unable to run Max Framerate? I had them before and my phone's able to run the game very well. I hope you fix it.
  • QQ9 10mm ammunition attacment supposedly increase the damage not damage range right? If "- Damage Range" gives better range then what's " - Damage" mean for the QQ9?
  • Server, the Server is lagging for some reason
  • MP Matchmaking, i only experience this one time but it's absurd i was put in a SnD where the opposing team had 4 round win and my team was 1 and the bad thing is the last round already started and i can only spectate and lost, bruh. Fix that ASAP
  • Guns in CODM, the game's oversaturated with guns where...

After the removal of Very High graphics settings in new update please add option to enable the Bloom settings on High settings.

My device Realme 3 Pro always supported Very High graphics settings with Very High frames on with it. You can see on Youtube videos but after this setting is not available please make Bloom effect option in High settings developers.
There was never any performance issues on this device with CODM unlike the PUBGM and Fortnite graphics and frames.

Dear Activision, Please Listen.

With all the negativity surround the recent Ghost not being free for the anniversary, we have yet to see a solid response from Activision. Meanwhile their publishers, Garena is doing phone giveaways, free epic gun draws and more. I really love the game, but far too many times there have been way better events/free items/non game giveaways in Garena compared to global.

In fact, there is a stark difference between the esports scene as well. They had a proper structure and broadcast coverage of the qualifiers. Just hoping that they can take note and maybe strive to be a little bit better. Just my 2 cents worth.

BR graphics with new update !

I’ll say this I’ve seen a lot of ppl say they hate the new look of BR but I think it looks better than the previous version..it doesn’t look so dull and washed out anymore the colors are nice and vibrant it doesn’t look cartoony at all like some ppl have said ! the movement feels a lil smoother and I’m playing on a low end device this update actually improved the performance for me ! but I’ve heard that players with high end phones can’t reach max graphics anymore idk what to say about that but it seems like they slightly downgraded the graphics for better performance which is a good move in my book so I hope they don’t change it back anyways how do you feel about the new BR update ?

Footsteps

I don't know if i am tripping or not playing br for a while is making me say this but , the footsteps are so weird. A player would be walking on grass and it sounds this he is walking on Cardboard or Metal , i am pretty sure this wasnt like this before. I think they tried to improve the footsteps and accidentally broke them cz sometimes when the players is on concrete i hear metal footsteps , and when in br the player is walking on plain grass it sound like he is walking on cardboard...
I dont know, am i really tripping?

"download configuration failed"

So, I play the game almost daily, never had a problem with this.. Now I can't open the app? I tried clearing the cache, same problem. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same problem. Any help? Is it just an issue with the servers updating for the new season, and I need to be patient?

I just updated the game and saw something........ suspicious.

Why is there written "progress: 0/26" on the top right side of the arsenal panel.

My thoughts are that we WILL be able to gain legendary weapons (somehow in a reallyyyyy hard way).

Other than that, it seems to be a progress bar to gain mythic weapons too.

Something interesting I found about the NA-45 whilst grinding camos for it

You CANNOT get longshot camos with the explosion, you have to either headshot them or tell your friend to tag them until they are below 30 HP so you 1-tap them.

The explosion ALWAYS comes before the headshot, so if you stuck an explosive on the enemy, reload your gun. The primer will disappear if you reload the gun. If you don't do so and continue to shoot at the enemy again, you will NOT get the headshot/long shot. It would count as a normal kill and waste your ammunition.

Currently, NA-45 is ONLY available for Garena players who unlocked it the first day, there is NO WAY to obtain the NA-45 in Global, sorry about that.

UPDATE: It will be available through seasonal challenges.

The best way to level up the NA-45 is through Hardpoint Shipment and using hipfire builds and rapidly double-tapping the fire button (have good trigger fingers and you're god tier with this)

Lag & Stuff

First Thing First The Update Is awesome, I Can Equip My Rare skins in BR And The battle Pass Also looks Great The small Improvements In Guns and The Improved Animations Are Also good

But

The Grass Is Alot Greenish Old Grass Was Much Better
And The Lag Has Increased Alot Too, As Soon As I Rushed The Enemy My FPS went from 35-40 To 3-5and Obviously I died, and Their Are Alot Of Visual Glitches Too

So

Please Fix The Bugs, Lag Etc First You Can Postpone This Season's Battle Pass A Bit And Fix The Game instead, The Community Wants The Dysync And Bugs Fixed First, We Even Waited For season 9 battle and we can wait for season 11 battle Pass too but the thing is WE NEED THE BUGS FIXED.

So so so good and needed. the devs are absolute legends yet again. and all they cop is flack and bad words on this sub, when any mobile game (let alone a full console game) others dev teams wouldnt be this supportive, caring, hard working, dedicated and provide players with consistent content, easy to access stuff and consistently insane updates!!

In multiplayer they did a spectacular job, it is to applaud how excellent optimized it is. But Battle Royale, was it necessary to download both the graphics? It looks really bad, the low graphics before the update are like the graphics to the maximum today, and with even more saturated colors, it's really a shame

Codm We have to talk...

Putting highly requested items in crates makes you look bad. Yes, People are going to buy it but a lot more will buy cod points to buy it straight up. No one is happy about crates and I WAS actually going to buy cod points to buy the leaked Ghost-Loose ends.But I'm not buying crates. And i Bet a lot of people in the comments have something to say about that. Just A word of advice, Get rid of crates and you'll do a lot better.

First try of the NA-45 and it was sick but...

I was so excited hearing that there's gonna be a sniper that has its bullet exploding considering that I love using a sniper. Just this morning, the update came which hyped me up some more. (I play garena btw) I saw that there's an objective that must be completed in order to get the NA-45 so I tried to finish it immediately. When I finally got it, it was awesome to use because it feels like using a completely accurate death machine and a gravity spikes. It can kill a couple of enemies at the same time instantly at long range and it can also do so at close range just by hip firing at the floor. However, I felt bad for using it because it's just feels too OP. I have been at legendary for quite a while now and I stopped playing ranked because there are too much players good players to compete with. I either lose or win but not get on top 3 but after using the NA-45, there's not a match that I wasn't included in top 3. So, do you think that adding the NA-45 was a good idea or not?

Feedback on gameplay experience

  1. Shiny is not equal to good quality.

  2. Great optimization on br but there's too much desync and lag. Also, the colors/shades of the environment now looks like free-fire, which we didn't want in any way.

Seriously, i can't express my concern enough for desync. How can we enjoy these improvements and new contents if we can't even play a single match without network error or lag? I just played some match (mp and br). In br, there are some random framedrops, then it starts lagging, then more lagging, then it freezes for sometime, then again framedrops, then crashes. In mp, opponents killed me before i could see them. Then killcam shows that I was afk for 2 or 3 seconds when the enemy killed me. I tried pre-aiming, but sometimes i can't even see the enemy in front of me.

  1. Post-match screens are faster to exit now, i agree. But after every screen, there's a "waiting" icon , for server latency, which does not allow us to exit faster.

  2. Don't fix which isn't broken. Some improvements are appreciated (like the new pistol hold and sound) but pistol ads with scope was needed fixing, which wasn't.

  3. Servers in populated regions are having issues like desync mostly. We need a server maintenance update and more server points in populated regions like south asia, africa, north america.

  4. Gunsmith notifications are still bugged. We can clean all in 1 click but often strange notifications can be seen which doesn't lead to anything.

  5. Matchmaking is worse than ever. I and my opponents were all level 150, but my teammates were all level 30 to 50.
    If i lose that match, next matchmaking gives all bots opponents and level 150 teammates. Wtf?

  6. The game is becoming larger and larger with every update. It's a mobile game, not console/pc.

  7. Hot recommendation system is much appreciated. But we don't that much recommendation. Only 3 or 5 will do.

  8. How the fuck vehicles steer in mid-air? Who told the devs to do that?

Anyone else having issues updating / installing latest update on Android 11?

Have an OnePlus 8 pro, running Android 11, updated to this android version 3-4 days ago.

Previous version of CODM Garena working fine yesterday, day before.

Today, open app, get prompt to update app, cool. Went to play store. Update failed. Try again. Failed again.

Uninstall game, reinstall. Fail 3x.

Restart phone, Reinstall. Fail.

Restart phone, clear play store cache and data, reinstall. Fail X2.

Apkpure. Fail. APK Pure install manually, APK works, OBB failed.

Anyone else?

I'm actually liking the br optimization

I use medium graphics normally and it lags a bit and you know all the other bugs that happen. Today I decided to try low graphics again (to compensate I used very high frame rate)and here are the things I noticed:
1.Weapons on the ground load normally and not as boxes

2.I can see all character skins and it's no longer restricted to spec ops 1 and outrider jungle

(Note that before the update my low graphics never did the above two only medium and higher did it)

3.Its smooth af

4.it overall looks a bit better than before

5.Frame drops are less frequent

So overall this might be the best update ever for low-medium end devices gameplay wise

Also one question I have for you guys:
I've seen posts saying that very high graphics and max frame rate option is not available but I still have all of the graphic options so idk what happens there

I want to apologize

Earlier this morning I played a game and in that game, I met a glitch which applies to players...and I thought it was a hacker and I want to apologize for it as I posted it as Cheating and someone told me that they had the same thing happen to them but for another player...Basically, the glitch makes the red light of your enemies disappear and you can't kill them I thought this was backing bc the player seemed invincible

Baseball Bat

Hey guys,

I have a baseball bat and noticed that I can grind camos for it as well now and in gunsmith it says it's maxed but when I click on sand Camo for example, it's still showing that it will be available at level 2. What am I missing here? I have all my guns Damascus and would like to add the Bat to the family as well 😂

Is it just me or is ranked completely stripped of its competitiveness now?

Anyone can get legendary very easily regardless of their skill level. You get very high XP and rank up fast regardless if you lose and aren’t even MVP, doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose of ranked and make it just casual now? I literally went from veteran to master in one night and dropped VTOL after VTOL like I was playing casual against bots

Any speculation on how Mythic weapons work?

I've seen screenshots that make it seem like you can customise certain certain aspects to be unique i.e. the muzzle flash or body part colour.

So basically Legendary weapons give you a unique camo and death animation and Mythic is just more customisable? Or is it pay to win now with tracking bullets, etc

Does anyone with the Legendary AK-47 pumpkin wanna help a brother out?

As you may or may not know, the AK-47 Pumpkin (first lucky draw gun) actually already has the 5.45 ammo conversion. The gun was my main up until season 4 when it became powercrept and I think the 5.45 is gonna rekindle my love for the gun. Unfortunately I don’t have the AK Pumpkin so I can’t see for myself. Would anyone with the AK-47 pumpkin be willing to send me footage of the damage stats of the gun and a screen recording using the Training Room Reaper mannequin? I’m not a content creator, but I really am just curious.

Cannot play after update.

Running on an iPhone 7 and ios 14
The game is unplayable! When the game doesn’t crash a few minutes into a BR match the lag is absolutely terrible! I’m playing with a stable WiFi signal with pings in the neighborhood of 24-70ms. Looking forward to update to make the game stable.
