Meh, point of the game is to play for your enjoyment and progress through challenges/missions/heists etc. The way the GTA economy is set up now its hard to go from level 1-30 and have over 10M+ consistently because of the back and forth. If it takes 8+ hrs a day to achieve something that would take months passively, doesnt really feel enjoyable, more like unattainable

At least now there are things like the Cluckin Bell Farm Raid, KnoWay Out Story and Treasure Hunts/Bounty Hunter Missions, to make money without owning any properties. When I was a beginner, all there was, to make money without owning any properties, were looting dead NPCS, robbing convenience stores, doing Contact Missions, and begging to join other people's Apartment Heists.

And honestly thats still not enough. Ive been playing the game since it came out, and once the mansion update came out i had to grind hours for it, even with MC businesses boosted, nightclub stacked, bunker, and multiple successful Cayo heists done with my group back to back. Its very time consuming, for me it was enjoyable, sometimes frustated a lil bit. My gf on the other hand is a noob and started from the ground up and it was extremely hard even with the free/discounted properties. She'd make some money then need to spend it on upgrades, and her MCs were getting raided heavily etc, she was crashing out
