Vault breach door leading to the void...?

came across the other door right next the door where youre supposed to go, and it just lead to nowhere with some floating stuff on the other side

I would guess this is just a map design. Why render an inaccessible space? Id say it is as intended forcing the player to go thru the right passage to the garden & vault.
