Currently the speed from grapples and the jetpack can be carried into ground movement and then Bhopping can retain that speed

THIS IS A GOOD THING

Being able to carry speed and as a whole use creative methods to go faster is great for both gamefeel and skill expression

I see how the doublejump also has a lurch-like mechanic where you can rotate your current speed to the inputted direction, whereas outside of double jump you strafe like most source games

Some of the on-foot areas also really lean into the idea / ability to do this, allowing people to take a unconventional path to then hit a grapple point and bhop through the area. The ground friction is also made to make bhopping more forgiving since this is a Player hosted game which is a great idea

The only part that doesnt entirely feel right is zero G movement, mainly just how hard the jetpack brings you to true zero and then the slow acceleration of the zero G movement.

Honestly just having the braking phase not entirely take away your speed would be good. Let it carry a little similar to when you glance off something in jetpack or jump while grappling

Also, the difference between being able to use your jetpack or not is a bit vague. Im absolutely an advocate for keeping it where you can use it to slingshot into areas and occasionally use it in places where it feels like it wasnt completely intended - at the player's risk

Something like an audio indicator for when you can use it again kinda like how we have a sound for attaching to magnetic strips would be good

Honestly if this game wanted to lean itself even closer into titanfall/source movement, the strength of the "lurch" on double jump could be lessened to allow for more traditional strafing. When above the sprint speed it could have effectively no lurch effect while when below sprint speed its then allowing a player more instant authority (since lurch is meant to make platforming more intuitive for those who have lost their speed)

As a console/controller player I agree 100%. Movement in this game feels just terrible to me- except for grappling and jetpack. It’s made worse because I have to turn my look speed waaay down or I can’t hit anything.
