Bring Me Gunpowder is a small mod that replaces the decision to visit a Silk Road Bazaar, with a slightly larger system to send an envoy there in your place. This envoy will be drawn from appropriate historical characters (Marco Polo, Ibn Battuta, etc.), then from your courtiers, and generated characters when nobody is available. They will take up that mission, and if they return they're likely to have something for you, although not necessarily the innovation you sought. If they return, that is.
