rotund pagoda
so i was doing research on another topic when i discovered something odd. a 1822 map which draws out the map of the northern gulf of aqaaba from 1822 which shows that the only major city in the area is and was aqaba which is in game and makes all sense. but there is no mention of a town in the area in any historical record until the modern town of eliat was founded all that i can find before then was an ottoman and then british police station and evidence of a umayad mining camp around 700 to 900 ad. so my question is why is there a town called elia/alia in that duchy when it wouldnt exist until the 20th century?
