Let slayers and demons do tricks like throwing sand in the enemy's eyes to blind them for a bit, or another similar trick, I think it'd spice up fights

lol

#

I just wanted to do pocket sand

#

Thought it was funny

weary topaz
#

Being blinded in combat like that is attrocious, especially if group fights can exist

#

Never goes well

Knockback is never a good way to do pocket sand, nor is vision reduction

#

Vision reduction does nothing

#

Knockback just looks dumb, throwing some sand and the person falls ovet and such

wild bramble
#

instead of sand then?

#

so it can have a different effect?

weary topaz
#

Would look even more dumb

I'm just being realistic/honest

#

If you do them to be goofy, nobody will use them and they'll just be weird

wild bramble
#

It is supposed to be a leadup to a attack, or a kind of distraction

weary topaz
#

If you do them to be usable, they'll be insane in set scenarios and awful in 99% of the otgers

weary topaz
wild bramble
#

Like how yuji threw his jacket up to distract higuruma into thinking it was him

weary topaz
#

And if it is able to leadup to an attack, that makes it more insane for group fights

wild bramble
#

then he sneak attacked him, that type of attack

weary topaz
#

Everybody would see it once and never get hit again

wild bramble
weary topaz
#

It's just throwing sand

#

Counters would be used mid-windup of an opponents move or to read an attack and counter

#

Pocket sand is literally just not good for pvp games

wild bramble
#

I feel liek a trick would be good for pvp games

#

its mostly just atacking and parrying, I don't see any real tricks in it

weary topaz
#

Tricks in an open world pvp game don't usually work and if they do work, they still never get used

#

As they are easy to ignore once fooled once

#

Maybe as cutscene content stuff like this would work, but not as a combat mechanic

#

As they'd just get ignored a lot of the time, or if you want them to actually be viable, it'd be the most overpowered thing in a group fight

wild bramble
#

You mean getting jumped or a group vs group?

weary topaz
#

Any group fight

#

Since getting jumped does not mean a group lol

wild bramble
weary topaz
#

Getting jumped in a game means being attacked while not ready, it can be one or more people

#

Nothing about the term of getting jumped in a game has to be a group thing

#

People just started changing it to complain more

#

Getting ganked is the term they mean

wild bramble
weary topaz
#

Group*

#

If somebody just starts attacking you out of the blue without any indication of wanting to fight, that is them jumping you

wild bramble

#

Not happening bud

#

Drop the idea

weary topaz
#

It could potentially be in a cutscene, I do like the idea if used right in a cutscene

#

But in combat would be trash

wet barn
#

lowkey works in pve

weary topaz
#

It'd be awkward if these cracked out of their mind npcs suddenly just got thrown off by some sand

wet barn
#

i mean

#

if im in a fight with someone and he randomly throws sand at me

#

i'd be pretty confused

#

could be like a split-second stun purely to start combos

opal copper
#

this happened in dsrpg2 and it was so annoying

#

nobody enjoyed it

wild bramble
opal copper
#

no

#

blinding effects

#

dsrpg2 was ass but not that ass

fading siren
#

if it's just a one time use item then it'd be fine

#

situational

weary topaz
fading siren
#

kind of how it was is rogue

weary topaz
#

Even then, just pattern recognition to be able to fight it, and it'd still be a pain in group fights

weary topaz
fading siren
#

i could see that

weary topaz
#

Pocket sand is not a good item to use in pvp games cause of balancing

opal copper
#

its also just silly if you ignore the major balancing issues

wild bramble
#

Man I just wanted to throw pocket sand at people for no reason
