Clearly somebody hasn't played AA/AR or Rogue
I haven't
lol
I just wanted to do pocket sand
Thought it was funny
Being blinded in combat like that is attrocious, especially if group fights can exist
Never goes well
then make it a different effect maybe?
Knockback is never a good way to do pocket sand, nor is vision reduction
Vision reduction does nothing
Knockback just looks dumb, throwing some sand and the person falls ovet and such
I imagined it was like a potion possibly?
instead of sand then?
so it can have a different effect?
Would look even more dumb
I'm just being realistic/honest
If you do them to be goofy, nobody will use them and they'll just be weird
It is supposed to be a leadup to a attack, or a kind of distraction
If you do them to be usable, they'll be insane in set scenarios and awful in 99% of the otgers
Distractions against players are an unrealistic function, unless you are using certain attacks that can still hit
Like how yuji threw his jacket up to distract higuruma into thinking it was him
And if it is able to leadup to an attack, that makes it more insane for group fights
then he sneak attacked him, that type of attack
That would never fool a player with a brain
Everybody would see it once and never get hit again
Isn't that how it is with any counter?
It's not even a counter?
It's just throwing sand
Counters would be used mid-windup of an opponents move or to read an attack and counter
Pocket sand is literally just not good for pvp games
It's supposed to be a trick, something people use to gain any type of advantage
I feel liek a trick would be good for pvp games
its mostly just atacking and parrying, I don't see any real tricks in it
Tricks in an open world pvp game don't usually work and if they do work, they still never get used
As they are easy to ignore once fooled once
Maybe as cutscene content stuff like this would work, but not as a combat mechanic
As they'd just get ignored a lot of the time, or if you want them to actually be viable, it'd be the most overpowered thing in a group fight
You mean getting jumped or a group vs group?
It includes a group tho...
Getting jumped in a game means being attacked while not ready, it can be one or more people
Nothing about the term of getting jumped in a game has to be a group thing
People just started changing it to complain more
Getting ganked is the term they mean
I am never using the term gank, its such a odd word to say
You can still say you got jumped, but a jumping is not always a geoup
Group*
If somebody just starts attacking you out of the blue without any indication of wanting to fight, that is them jumping you
Use sand for a cutscene then
It could potentially be in a cutscene, I do like the idea if used right in a cutscene
But in combat would be trash
lowkey works in pve
Sort of, but not if the AI is good like we've seen Higoshi show sneaks of
It'd be awkward if these cracked out of their mind npcs suddenly just got thrown off by some sand
i mean
if im in a fight with someone and he randomly throws sand at me
i'd be pretty confused
could be like a split-second stun purely to start combos
pocket sand??
One time use items just means stack up on them, they'd still be pountless in combat against anyone with pattern recognition
by one time use I mean that you can use it once, and you'd only have stock of one
kind of how it was is rogue
Even then, just pattern recognition to be able to fight it, and it'd still be a pain in group fights
Rogue's was also attrocious
i could see that
Pocket sand is not a good item to use in pvp games cause of balancing
its also just silly if you ignore the major balancing issues
