STATS:

Stat points are boring to allocate so what if we made it unique?

Affinity Pools:

Each player has affinity pools that represent connections to aspects of their choices or experiences, rather than stats like "Strength" or "Dexterity."

Affinity pools might include categories like Bravery, Wisdom, Instinct, and Harmony. Each one has different skill and stat boosts:

Attunement Events:

Instead of choosing points directly, players grow their affinities by encountering certain attunement events that subtly change their character. For example:

Bravery:
A player who often does combat-related actions and uses more physical based weapons skills or attacks will increase their Bravery pool.

Instinct:
A player who stays in battle for long periods of time or has status effects for long periods of time or is low on health for long periods. Will increase the resilience pool. Basically endurance based things

Wisdom:
A player who uses magic or magic item's and basically anything using magic often will increase their mind pool.

Harmony:
Players who run, climb, dash, jump, or attack with weapons will increase their Energy pool which gains you stamina like things

Cross-Pool clash and Requirements:

Example: magic weapons might require not only raw magical knowledge (Wisdom) but also a strong level of Instinct to wield it effectively...

Bravery is required to actually effectively (like in elden ring. If you don't have enough stats in a certain area you can't use the weapon) carry or use weapons.. and increase damage as well.

If it's a magic weapon you need a certain amount and bravery and wisdom before you can use powerful magic item's or weapons.

Stat Trait cards:

Trait/Skill cards can be found around the map ranging from

  1. Pressure Eater: you cannot be stunned by heavy weapons but as a draw back you take more knock back damage

Trait and skill cards can be dropped from end PCS but have a low chance. And you can carry a skill card for each pool. But only 1 max per each pool.. you can equip a stat and skill card per slot

**Skill/Trait Card rarity::

  1. Fated: (Highest and rarest appears as a black card)

  2. Lost (Second to highest. Still super rare. Appears as a white card)

  3. Infusion(more common but not easy to get. it appears as a green card)

  4. Timeless: (Lowest to get It's still not common to see though. Appears as yellow)

Having actions put stat points into different stuff is unique for sure

Just not good from a gameplay perspective if they have a max amount you can invest

Youd have to be constantly hyper aware of what youre doing

And it would be incredibly annoying

It takes away all freedom until you achieve your build

Also another thing i wanna point out about the cards

BECAUSE its permadeath

So you can make new builds after every death

#

And to my knowledge chain bound isnt a permadeath game

So itd be permanent

Getting skills is cool and all

But i dont think it should work that way

Just unequipped the skills and traits and start new

Or like add a wiping system so players can wipe certain things on themselves

For example if they want to reset all levels and stats they can.
