The game isn't complete, we just did some marketing to get attention on the game.

The side project Higoshi is working on does not involve Shounen Studio developers. Myself and the other developers of the team have no direct involvement of it. That game is currently published by Boss Studios.
He made the side project in 2 weeks to avoid burnout from making Hinokami.

I don't think you have any idea how long games take to make. They used to be fast to make on Roblox, but they take dramatically longer now, especially if you want high quality content.

Half of the Shounen Studios dev team are ADULTS and this is something we're doing to pay bills. Truth is, we don't get money during development, we only spend it.
Each asset can cost anywhere from 100-500 dollars on Roblox these days. We need to be able to pay bills and developers to be able to make Hinokami.
For Higoshi, the side project helps him pay his bills and developers too.

You could do something similar to what Demon Bane did. Basically they released a "battlegrounds" game with their games combat and the breathing styles and demon arts available, so that people can have an understanding of the combat before the actual game drops. I personally think it's a good idea and people wouldn't have anything to complain about cuz like just play the "pvp playtest".

I don’t mind how long game is taking to make because I think it will be great. I like occasional teaser/news about the game. But I don’t understand the point of drawing attraction to a game that’s been “so close to completion” for about 2 years now. I seriously cannot wait but the only thing this game is gaining is gaining is jokes about the release date. I’m grateful you guys are making such an amazing looking game but come on man, you have to understand that hype dies out because it’s sucks when I say “ The new demon slayer game looks cool” and then someone comes up with a joke saying it’s never going to release.

And about that money situation. You could have publicly said that before hyping up the game and then making it paid access for two weeks. I would have completely understood that the developers need money and I didn’t know that it takes double the amount of time now. Also, even though you or any other head developers have said it was releasing soon, you did do a considerable amount of marketing and events focused on the game. I understand that it was to gain traction but to many, games haven’t done that a lot so to see it do that was a little different.

The people who have been here for rpg2 and so on know that Higoshi is notoriously bad at meeting release dates he sets, hence why some of the older members joked about it, and then newer members jumped in

The reason the helpers and support generally say there is no release date is because we don't want people to get pissy when whatever date/timeframe they get told is wrong

Paid access for the first two weeks is a common thing, and they stated it months ago now, and the game still isn't in that early access, and developers won't work for free.

That is why they've started a tiktok for some profits there, they've started a lot of different things

If we say it's only a few months then it ends up being 5, people will whine constantly, and they've announced before that there isn't any update timeframe, especially the fact that they've never announced any release date
