Less boring Backstories

Uh as far as i remember there would be backstories for charachters.
reading their story while staying like a block would be boring and %50-60 (maybe more) of the players will be really bored and they may skip without learning it.
maybe the Npcs could tell about their stories while fighting,walking,running etc
this could possibly makes it less boring.
