So like I literally just thought of this right before I started typing this out so this could be a stupid one
When you use an art/style for a long period of time, OR if you prove to have gotten really skilled with it (in form of community tournaments or something maybe?), you get an elevated version of that art/style that changes something relatively small about it. What I thought in my head was how in Avatar the Last Air bender, Azula has blue flames while most fire benders have normal orange/red flames. The best tie-in I can make here is:
- Master Arrow: Arrows go from red to some other color (and if you really want to reward good players, add a tiny bit of dmg or change some other number value in the attacks)
Honestly, this single example can apply to all the arts/styles.
- Master Flame: Flames go from normal looking to blue and scorches enemies (visual-only effect unless you feel like rewarding the good players with some extra dmg)
Anyway, I thought it was a cool idea, and a way to spot good players without ever getting close to them. This can give new players a goal to work toward, existing good players a way to brag, and the competitive players a way to seek good challenges (by seeing other good players immediately). This could probably be tweaked to make a lot more sense in the context of the current game, but like I feel like just adding skins like there are in DSRPG2 is just wasted potential. You could put more meaning behind these simple hue or saturation changes.
