in rpg2 the map was just generic Japanese rice fields villages snowy areas and swamps, in rpg3 not only should the map be bigger but it should have assets based from all over the world, there could be a new Orleans type large city with high level mafia type quests, dessert type villages in the middle of no where, different terrains people and culture all with different levels and as you progress through the game you slowly explore and unlock more areas of the map. This also means that there should either be a fast travel system by train or a horse system where you can move much more quickly.
#less repetitive map (rpg3)

i don’t think such extreme variation would fit Hinokami, but it would definitely work for Chainbound
but it’d be nice to have more terrain and climate variation in Hinokami
Just go play assassins creed at that point
Doesn't Demon Slayer entirely take place in Japan?
That said, I would like more extreme/varied mountains and forests
