big, BIG shit this time.

Made by @high smelt and @delicate wadi

Overview: This BDA focuses more on the ability to sustain combos and the user’s ability to manage his health. The BDA contains features like Skills consuming a portion of your health, as well as Poison and Lifesteal.

This suggestion may be confusing if you don’t understand Passive 1

Passive 1: The breathing bar, which is normally not in use for demons, will be replaced with a Blood Bar. This Blood Bar can be charged up and/or maintained if the user attacks opponents with light attacks, heavy attacks and Skills.

If the Blood Bar is completely empty, the user’s Blood Bar will be at Stage 0. Once the Blood Bar is filled to 50%, the user achieves Stage 1. When the Blood Bar is completely filled, the user achieves Stage 2.

Skills and attacks will have varying effects and damage output amounts depending on the Stage the user is at.

If the user does not land an attack for a while, the Blood Bar will start to decrease.

If the Blood Bar decreases below 100%, and is decreasing to 50%, the user will lose Stage 2, and will downgrade to Stage 1.

Once the Blood Bar decreases to 50%, or Stage 1, the Blood Bar’s decrease will pause for a while. If the user still fails to land an attack during this time, the Blood Bar will continue to decrease below 50%. The user, as a result, will lose Stage 1, and downgrade to Stage 0, the weakest Stage.

Ran out of space. Continuation can be found below.

#

Stage 0

The weakest stage. Blood Bar is lower than 50%. Damage output in this Stage should be significantly less compared to other Breathings or BDAs.

Skill 1:
The user will target a random opponent in his range. The user consumes a portion of his health to create 2 blood sickles. The user then throws the two blood sickles at the target. Both blood sickles will fly towards the same target. If the opponent is hit successfully, the opponent will be stunned. This attack can be blocked.

Skill 2:
The user consumes a portion of his health. The user then slashes relentlessly in a small AOE around him, constantly damaging and stunning opponents who are nearby. Combo extender. This attack can be blocked.

Skill 3:
The user will consume a portion of his health. Then, the user will point both arms forward, causing a small delay. After that, the user unleashes a large AOE cone of blood that stuns and damages opponents in an area in front of the user. At the end of the skill, all opponents caught in the skill will be knocked back. This skill is blockable.

Skill 4:
The user consumes a small portion of his health. The user then guards himself using his sickles, protecting him from attacks for around 1 second. During this state, he will receive 60% less damage from opponents. If he is stunned in this state, the skill ends immediately, and the user will immediately strike back at the opponent, stunning the opponent. The attack is blockable.

Stage 1

Second strongest stage. Blood bar is at 50% to 99%. Enhancements start to take effect. Damage output is still lower than average.

Skill 1: Same, but with slightly larger target range.

Skill 2: Same, but with slightly longer duration.

Skill 3: Same, but with slightly larger range

Skill 4: Same, but damage reduction is increased to 80%.

Stage 2

Strongest stage of all. Blood bar is at 100%. Majority of damage output is unlocked here.

Skill 1: Same, but range is much larger, and sickle travel speed is faster.

Skill 2: Same, but skill duration is increased. Range is also slightly increased.

Skill 3: Same, but larger AOE, longer duration, and does not knock opponents back at the end. This skill becomes a Combo extender.

Skill 4: Same, but all damage received during this skill is negated. Skill also lasts for an extra 1 second.

Skill 5: This skill requires a completely full blood bar (Stage 2) to be used. Upon activation, the user will target an opponent that is very close to the user, and hit the opponent once, stunning him until the skill ends. Before the skill ends, the user will jump up a small distance. After a small delay, the user will plunge down into the opponent with his sickles, pouncing onto the opponent, dealing massive damage, ending the skill. The opponent is also knocked back. Upon using this skill, blood bar will be completely emptied (back to Stage 0)

Intended combo and usage: Skill 1, 4 Light Attacks, Skill 2, 4 Light Attacks, Skill 3. Repeat this combo until blood bar stage 2 is complete. Between each combo, try to insert attacks to keep blood bar filled. Once blood bar is completely filled, use Skill 1, 4 Light Attacks, Skill 2, 4 Light Attacks, Skill 3, 4 Light Attacks, Skill 5. Use Skill 4 when necessary.
In other words, try to maintain and charge Blood Bar, then use full combo at Stage 2.

Side notes:

  • With this BDA, the user is always carrying two blood sickles.
  • It should take around 1 combo (without Skill 5) to reach a new Stage.
  • Lifesteal should be tweaked such that the user can gain back all health lost due to Skill health consumption, and maybe a bit more to reward good players, but should not be too strong.
#
  • At Stage 2, Poison damage should also contribute to Lifesteal, and also should deal a pretty significant amount of damage.
  • We tried to balance this BDA ourselves using actual maths, which proved to be very difficult due to a lack of information regarding other BDAs and Breathings, so feel free to suggest your own stats.
  • This BDA should be weak if the user does not know how to execute combos well and in turn heavily punish such players, but should be strong for users who know how to abuse combos.
  • Damage output in total for this BDA should be slightly higher compared to other BDAs and Breathings.
  • This BDA also has a lack of block breakers, which compensates for having higher total damage output and lifesteal.
  • This BDA can be easily countered if the opponent baits out the user's skills such that the user consumes a big portion of his health.
  • We are aware this probably won't be added.

tl;dr - blood bar. higher blood bar, stronger. also has lifesteal, and skills will damage yourself

Feel free to give any feedback
