It is very difficult to rank up in the game, and still need to be by Discord, I believe it would be better if it had to level within the game, and only had a certain number of people who could become hashers, for example: the first seven (or all the breathing syles in the game) to reach the Hashira patent (each with different breathing styles) would stay, until they leave the group or something.

But the problem is the rank up system we have now could benefit other players, it shows how strong some are. The ranking system you the ranking system your suggesting is if one were to get the rank by level, or fight for the hashira rank. What I'm trying to say is that their is no skill at all for the rank. You can't get a rank your not skilled enough to have. Thats all

I'd argue that having Titles other than Demon Slayer ranks would serve the purpose that you're looking for
Hashira and other ranks should serve as a indicator to how good someone is at the game through the community system
Community system shows the dedication of the player and that they put in the effort to actually obtain the rank
With what you're looking for, you could have a title say something like "Savior of Akiyama" or something
With us, When you see a Hashira in game, you know they aren't some random player. They're the strongest at fighting, and they deserve the rank.
It's difficult to rank up, but it's way more rewarding to see your new rank each time.
