Maybe add a katana customization system , where you can customize ur sword , ur handle colour , Ur katana hilt , ur blade shape etc and also add a Katana Broken system , which after a bunch of battle ur katana is broken , so u need to make a new 1 , by going to the Sword Smith village and create a new sword or fix the old sword with coins.
