📲 An improved mobile experience has arrived!

This week, we will begin rolling out new mobile updates to all users, including:

  • Separate Messages & Servers Tabs - We separated the Messages and Servers tabs to better organize your conversations. So now you can quickly find your DMs in one place and server chats in another.
  • Supercharged Search - Easily find people, media, links, and all of your past DMs in a flash.
  • Faster Launch Time - App open time has been reduced by 55% on Android and 43% on iOS.
  • New Voice & Video - Updated UI on voice and video calls to make the space more cozy for you and your friends.
  • Favorite DMs & Channels - Your favorite DMs & GDMs will always appear at the top of your Messages tab. You can also favorite a channel and it will always appear at the top of that server’s channels.
  • Improved Notifications Tab - Any @mentions, any Server Events, updates on Friend Requests, and replies to your messages will show up here.
    ...and so much more!

shapes_dancing Discover Apps Easily with App Launcher and Member List Recent Activity

We’ve been working to make it easier for users to discover and launch apps on Discord. We're excited to announce the App Launcher, a new way to easily launch apps anywhere on Discord—available in all channels. With this update, you can now easily launch apps anywhere on Discord. Here are all the details:

💪 Launching Apps is Easier Than Ever

The new App Launcher shapes_dancing makes using apps on Discord quick and simple. Available on both mobile and desktop, it’s conveniently located next to the chat bar in text chats and at the bottom of voice calls. Just look for the button with the shapes shapes on it!

plus1 Add Apps to Your Account to Use Them Everywhere

Apps are no longer limited to just the server where they were added — you can now take apps that support user-installation contexts to any server or DM across Discord by adding them directly to your account! For supported apps, simply open the app’s profile from the chat or member list and select “Add App”. Additionally, these apps will automatically be added to your account after you launch them from the App Launcher and authorize them. Apps added to your account will appear in the Recents section at the top of the App Launcher for easy access.

👀 See What Apps Your Friends Are Using and Join In

You can see which apps your friends are using directly in chat, on their profile, and in the member list, making it easy to join in on the fun.

  • Apps eligible for discovery in the App Directory will be available in the App Launcher.
  • Apps you and your developer team are currently developing will be available to you in the App Launcher for testing.
  • Apps with a user-installable context can be added to a user’s account and launched from the App Launcher.
  • Apps with only a server-installable context can be installed to servers by users with MANAGE_GUILD permissions.

Friend's Recent Activity Feed

  • Apps with Rich Presence will be eligible for display in the member list Recent Activity feed.
  • Users can disable the display of their activity status in their user settings under Activity Privacy.
