!!domain for your first question
Domain guide:
First, configure Geyser, so that you are able to connect with the numeric IP + port (see the usual setup guide on https://wiki.geysermc.org/geyser/setup/)
When that is done & you are able to connect with the numeric IP + port, proceed with setting up the domain:
- Get a domain (e.g. via Cloudflare)
- Add an A-Record (Bedrock doesn't work with SRV DNS records, so you'll have to use an A record instead. Java players will be able to connect fine with an A record. A CNAME record will also work for redirecting both Java and Bedrock players).
- Point the record to the IP of your server.
- Do NOT enable "proxied" mode, it has to be DNS-only!
Then, you should be able to use your domain together with the port to connect to your server.
For the second, offline mode causes this, the only fix is to turn your server to online mode
For the third, Geyser's config folder has a packs directory to install bedrock resourcepacks
and how can I make it so that the nickname doesn't change when I re-enter?
and what does Geyser-ViaProxy do?
Enable online mode
Geyser version for the Viaproxy server software
is this in the geyser itself or in FloodGate?
You leveled up to level 5!
server.properties
I have it, I installed a floodgate and players' nicknames started to disappear and resources started to disappear?
With offline mode, bedrock players are given duplicate UUIDs which makes them 2 accounts and have separate inventories. Setting online mode to true is known to fix this bug
Do you need a floodgate? for geyser???
and how can I make it so that people can log in from different versions?
Only Bedrock 1.21.40 and above is supported I believe, You cant change the versions Geyser supports without modifying the source code
and what about VIA version, it doesn't affect it?
No, Viaversion only effects Java versions
