Just tried connecting and got "You are not whitelisted" with a reference to your username, which means all is working on my end.

What hosting provider/service are you using?

The server is self-hosted on a dedicated machine, the domain is hosted through squarespace

Also, if people are having trouble connecting, you can always try giving them the IP instead of the domain.

We built a dedicated machine for it, that's what I meant. No third party host. I've tried the IP instead of the domain, no dice.
