#Bedrock players can’t join

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a sudden issue where Bedrock players can no longer join my Minecraft server (no connection to world). I haven't made any changes to the settings recently, but I did update GeyserMC not long ago. Could this update be related to the problem? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Server version: 1.20.4

Thank you!

When did you last update? You should always get the latest release

„Unable to connect to world“

Found errors in the log!

See below for details and possible fixes

Unable to connect to world

This means that the Bedrock client cannot find the server specified.
If you have not already, follow our setup instructions. Then, check the server console for any errors.
To verify Bedrock clients can connect, you can try running the geyser connectiontest <ip>:<port> command with your server IP and Geyser port.

Additionally, there are various fixes for this on our wiki, please see here.

is it the server or the bedrock together app its self? we have had players joining using MC connector which seemed to be the only way they could join due to the minecraft update.

It’s just bedrock itself! I can try to use mc connector instead 👍

# sage shadow Is there something specifically up with OVH or is this in relation to the protoc...

Copying from a different thread:

Essentially - the networking lib we're using in Geyser was updated recently to support an additional security layer (to prevent ip spoofing) - that however seems to be conflicting with OVH's (a major server hosting provider) "game" firewall when it's set to "minecraft: pocket edition".
We're currently trying to resolve the issue with OVH directly, but for now, there are workarounds:

  1. You could either change the GAME firewall from "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" to "Other"
  2. Or: you can set a java startup flag to disable that security layer (for now) by adding -DGeyser.RakSendCookie=false to those
